Ji Hua Laboratory held grand opening activities

The forenoon of 11 :08 a.m. in December 28th was an important moment in the annals of Ji Hua Laboratory, and after more than a year's intense preparations, with the care and support of leaders at all levels in the provincial and city levels, the main project of Ji Hua Laboratory was officially launched and started activities.

Lu Yi, Secretary of Foshan municipal Party committee, Zhu Wei, mayor, Cao Guoying, deputy director of the High Tech Department of the Ministry of science and technology, Meng Hui, deputy director of the materials department of the high tech department, Zheng Haitao, deputy director of the Department of science and technology of Guangdong Province, Huang Zhihao, Secretary of the South China Sea District Committee, Gu Yaohui, district director, Wu Zhiqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the District Committee, Jia Ping,  Zhao Yuhai, Hao Zhifeng, President of Foshan Institute of science and technology, Song Zhiyi, deputy director of Ji Hua laboratory, Xu Xiaochuang, director of the base construction and achievement management department of Fudan University, as well as provincial and municipal science and technology departments and leaders of relevant departments, attended the opening activities. The activities were hosted by Tan Ping, vice mayor of Foshan.

Zhu Wei, mayor of Foshan City, on behalf of Foshan municipal Party committee and municipal government, congratulated the construction of the laboratory. Zhu Wei pointed out that since the end of 2017, the construction and operation team has overcome many difficulties, and has initially completed the macroscopic work of system and mechanism construction, decision-making management team formation, and scientific research direction selection. The construction of Ji Hua Laboratory and the Sanlongwan high-end innovation and agglomeration area with the laboratory as the extreme is the key to attracting new resources in Foshan in the new era, grasping the initiative of innovation and development, and leading the development of high quality. Foshan will continue to promote the construction of Ji Hua Laboratory by the whole city.

Zheng Haitao, deputy director of the Department of science and technology of Guangdong Province, said in his speech that the construction of Ji Hua Laboratory is to make up for the shortage of basic research, major original achievements, top talents and teams in Guangdong Province. It is a new breakthrough and attempt for Guangdong Province to actively explore new ways of sustainable development under the new normal and accelerate the construction of regional innovation pattern.He hoped that Foshan will focus on building a global manufacturing innovation center for the whole world, driven by the Ji Hua Laboratory and achieving and even leading in advanced manufacturing science and technology.

Cao Jianlin, Chairman and director of the laboratory reviewed the work in 2018 and looked forward to the future development of the laboratory. He pointed out that since the first batch of full-time operational teams were stationed in Foshan, the preparatory work of the laboratory has entered a substantive stage of operation, and has promoted the work in a fast and stable way, and achieved some achievements. In terms of system construction, the laboratory has formulated 27 rules and regulations in 8 aspects, initially establishing a dynamic and effective system; in terms of scientific research, the laboratory adheres to the principle of "one batch of mature, one batch of start-up", successively launching two batches of 12 scientific research projects; in terms of talent introduction, the laboratory actively connects with high-end teams at home and abroad. At present, semiconductor The key parts R & D team has been successfully settled, and 20 outstanding graduates have been identified as the core talents in the laboratory. In infrastructure, the government has led the lab to cooperate actively, reducing the original planning and approval period of one and a half years to half a year, achieving the smooth start of the construction.

Cao Jianlin said that in the future, the laboratory will take the three leading research directions of industrial robots, binary optics and life sciences-oriented instruments and equipment as its guide, and seize the opportunities of key technologies and equipment of traditional Chinese medicine, artificial intelligence development plan of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, domestication of advanced instruments and equipment for disease prevention, advanced materials and other opportunities. Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and make policy in the aspects of team introduction, capital construction, equipment procurement, etc., to grasp the direction, comprehensively promote the work of all aspects of the laboratory, strive to build the laboratory into a fine works and model project, and build the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hongkong and Macau, and contribute to the development of China's manufacturing industry.
